We are dedicated to making sure your journey as intended parents is smooth and stress-free, providing constant support and communication along the way.

How To Become Intended Parents Step By Step

1. Application Process

Once you submit your application form to become intended parents, a member of our surrogacy team will contact you. They’ll ask you about your preferred qualifications for your surrogate mother, discuss the legal and financial aspects of surrogacy, and answer any questions.

2. Surrogacy Professionals

Intended parents must retain lawyer(s) who specialize in fertility and assisted reproduction law and an IVF physician who can do the embryo transfer. If these professionals are not already retained, we can refer you to these professionals.

3. Matching

We will provide surrogate mother profiles for you to review. Once you have selected the surrogate mother you are most interested in working with, we will send your profile to the surrogate and setup a video call to chat. If both parties agree to work together, then we have a successful match.

4. Trust Account

When you are successfully matched and ready to become intended parents, you will need to establish a trust account through your attorney or a bonded and licensed escrow company. The funds from this account will pay for surrogate compensation and other expenses incurred during surrogacy. We will refund any excess funds to you when the surrogacy process is complete.

5. Screening

All potential surrogates will undergo medical, psychological testing, and background checks to confirm they are suitable for surrogacy.

6. Legal Contract

Once the surrogate is medically cleared, the intended parent’s attorney will draft a surrogacy contract called gestational carrier agreement. This contract will be separately reviewed by the surrogate and her attorney.

7. Medical Procedures

The surrogate receives legal clearance, she will undergo in vitro fertilization at the fertility clinic. Here, she will begin the medications and injections to prepare her for the embryo transfer. On a designated date, she will travel to the IVF clinic for the embryo transfer. After the completed transfer, the surrogate will return to a medical clinic around two weeks later to confirm pregnancy.

8. Pregnancy and Finalization of Parental Rights

Once the surrogate’s pregnancy has been confirmed through blood tests and ultrasound, we will stay in continuous contact with the surrogate and frequently update you about the surrogate’s progress. Around the end of the first trimester, attorney(s) will start preparing for the finalization of the parental rights. They will file the necessary legal documents to the court to attain a court judgment that will make you the child’s legal parents and have your names on the child’s birth certificate.

9. Delivery of the Baby

On delivery day, you will go to the hospital where the surrogate is delivering your baby. Intended parents who are arriving from other countries are highly encouraged to apply for visas early and arrive a few weeks early in case the surrogate delivers the baby before the due date.

10. International Travel Assistance (International Intended Parents)

If the intended parents are from another country, we will assist the intended parents with acquiring the child's or children's passport, travel documents, birth certificate, social security number and any other legal documents.
